Hello beautiful! If you follow my boudoir page on Facebook you have probably noticed that I have been saying that word a lot lately...beautiful. My brand is beauty. My work is beauty. My clients are beauty. That's right, all of my clients are beautiful. Some of them just don't know it or believe it...but every single one of them is beautiful. So I have decided that I am just going to keep saying it until every FB fan, every blog reader, and every person who happens to stop on my website believes that she, too, is beautiful.
A few posts back I featured Ms. V. and the glamour session that she did. I also included her before after image. I have recently added a page to my site dedicated to before/after images. I just want potential clients to see that these women are not super models. They are just like you and me. They are mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, business women. My job is to see the extra little spark, the hidden beauty that is just below the surface, the super model-diva-goddess that I believe hides in all of us no matter how old we are or what size we wear.
I would love to photograph every woman I meet and show her that she is beautiful. I want every woman to have the opportunity to release her inner goddess and see herself the way I see her. I think you might be amazed at how a couple of hours in my studio can change your outlook on everything. Tomorrow when you get up, look in the mirror and say I am beautiful. When you stop in the restroom at work, look in the mirror while washing your hands and say I am beautiful. When you are washing off your makeup at the end of the day, look in the mirror and say I am beautiful. Do you see a pattern here? Once you start to believe it, everyone else will see it and they will say it too. Now yell it from the roof tops....
I AM BEAUTIFUL!!
You will also notice that my email address is now Iambeautiful@faerielightphotography.com ;) Send me an email and let me know just how beautiful you are!
Today's blog post is a day early but I wanted to let you all know what the June special is! Since June is the official start to summer, I thought I would post a special that can be used for June, July or August. If you book a session for one of those months and you purchase an album, you will get a 5x7 album with 5 images for free! This is the perfect size to tuck away in your purse to show your friends how gorgeous you are or leave one in his briefcase so he can be surprised at the office. While the session can take place in any of the 3 summer months, you must call in June to get this special offer. There will be a new special posted next month so if you want this free album call now and book!
If you ask a bunch of men what women do best, I bet their top answer would be talk. Let's face it, women like to talk...a lot! Well, today I am giving you the opportunity to have a complimentary studio session with me just for talking about my work. I need to spread the word about my bridal boudoir sessions and I figured, who better to help me out than my loyal blog readers? And, of course, I want to give you an extra incentive to talk about me...a complimentary session in my new studio!
Do you like to talk?
Do you know someone getting married this year?
Would you like to have a glamour or boudoir session with me for free?
If you answered yes to at least 2 of those questions, then keep reading!
Tell everyone you know that is getting married, thinking about getting married, or maybe they are married but never gave their groom a special gift and would like to remedy that, about my bridal boudoir sessions. If they book a session with me and give me your name as a referral you will earn a complimentary session in my studio! Your session can be for glamour or boudoir in my studio and includes hair and makeup by my super awesome talented stylist.
Now maybe you are wondering what is the difference between a boudoir session and a bridal boudoir session. Well, bridal boudoir tends to include some of your wedding lingerie, maybe your veil and shoes or perhaps even your dress. These images are usually given to the groom in an album as a gift prior to him meeting you at the altar. Think of it as building anticipation for the wedding night. He opens this album alone before he goes to wait for you to walk down the aisle. He will be thinking about that lingerie and what the wedding night will hold for the two of you. He will never forget that anticipation after looking at your photos. He will never forget your wedding night and how you looked as you stood there in your lingerie. He will always have that because you gave him the gift of an album full of you and pieces of that special day.
So, now that you know what it is and what you will get for talking about it, go forth my beautiful readers and tell everyone you know all about it! As an extra bonus I will give both of you $100 credit toward any purchase from your session. Seriously!!! Just for talking :)
To book a session use the contact page or call me at 336.309.3506. Thanks again beauties!
This week's Topless Tuesday post features a before and after from a recent session. I would love to do these for every client but honestly, I usually forget to snap a before! I try to get each client to send me a quick selfie but that doesn't always happen either. So when I do remember or they are nice enough to send me a fresh faced selfie I will be sharing with you all.
Ms. V was a last minute session last week and I am so glad she came in. We had tons of fun, she is gorgeous, her outfits were awesome...oh yeah, did I mention how beautiful she is? Seriously, this girl and my camera went together like champagne and strawberries! I am pretty sure I loved all of her images and I already have one in mind that will be gracing a wall in the studio!
Without further adieu, I give you Ms. V!
As if having this beautiful girl in the studio wasn't enough already, check out the kind words she left for me on my Facebook page!
This place is so fantastic! Feeling beautiful and looking beautiful all at once was amazing! Thank you for making that happen!
If you are ready to be pampered and feel beautiful, come to the studio and rock your beauty session today! You can use the contact form or call 336.309.3506 for more information. I can't wait to chat!
Hello beauties! Wow! What a crazy few weeks it has been. Between opening the studio, booking & shooting sessions, and interviewing potential nannies for my daughter, I have been so busy I haven't even blogged! Before I get too far into this post, I just want to remind you to check back in a few days for the May special or if you want to be one of the first to find out what it is and get a little bonus be sure to sign up for the newsletter. The sign up form is just to the right of this post.
Now that I have all of that out of the way, let's get down to the real reason you read these posts...the photos! I have some full sessions that I can't wait to show you but you will have to be a little patient for those. Today I am going a bit with my "T" theme and a bit with my "revealing" theme....except I am changing it to a "B" instead. Boobs and Bums, instead of the T version of those words. Are you ready??
I love my studio! I also love each of these ladies for letting me show off their "assets"! So what do you say? Are you ready to book your boudoir session? It is so easy to do and the fun factor is worth it alone. Each of these ladies spent more time laughing during their sessions and they had me laughing too. Come get your laugh on and leave with gorgeous photos and a boost in your confidence!
To book a session just click here. I am looking forward to working with you soon!
A studio is something most photographers strive for. A space to call their own, a place where lighting conditions can be controlled, you can shoot no matter what the weather and you can have your name in lights. Well maybe not in lights exactly, but on a sign on the door at least.
As most of you know, I recently signed the lease on a space in historic downtown Statesville. Last week I had my first session in the studio and I am in love! The session was so much fun and the outcome surpassed my expectations. The light was perfect no matter where I stood. The furniture I put in the studio was worth every penny as each piece enhanced the poses and the lighting perfectly. In just one session I knew that I made the right decision to lease a studio space.
That particular session is under lock and key as it is a secret for a very special husband but I have a few coming up that I can hopefully share! I will be try to remember to take some pictures of the studio by itself to share soon and I am planning on shooting a video as soon as I have a brave woman who doesn't mind sharing ;) Until then, here are a couple of images I shot with my iPhone as I was getting it set up.
While this studio is nothing like the vision I had in my head as my ideal studio, I love how it has turned out. In some ways, it is even more perfect because it is mine. If you are interested in a studio session don't wait to contact me. April is going by fast and the $100 booking special won't be around for long. If you have questions about what the experience is like during a session, call me and we can chat :) Whether you email, use the contact page or ring me up (336.309.3506), I am always happy to answer questions.

Welcome my beautiful friends to another week of Topless Tuesday! I decided to combine this weeks post with a business post I have been meaning to write for a while now. Things have been kinda crazy this past week so I figured this might help me just a bit. If you read through all the way you might find a little gem of information I am just dying to share with all of you ;)
Although we are almost 4 months into 2014, I have decided to post my business goals for the year. Better late than never, right? I have been focusing more on myself, marketing and my website these past couple of months. I am horrible with marketing my photography business. If I could pay someone to do this part for me I would. This also goes hand in hand with what I have realized about myself; I am an introvert, but that is another blog post entirely! Let's just say that I much prefer the creative and one on one aspect of being the photographer not the business owner. So back to my goals.
1. Focus more on marketing my business outside of social media and reach more women who value what I do.
2. Shoot a predetermined number of beauty, glamour and boudoir sessions each month and consistently reach my sales goal.
3. Find a space in the Statesville area that I can call my own; something in a downtown or historical area would be ideal. This is the biggest goal this year. I would love to find the perfect natural light studio space and create a classy boutique atmosphere where I can meet with clients, shoot sessions and do my work.
4. Continue learning and growing as a photographer. I would love to do an in-person workshop with a photographer that I look up to in the industry.
With hard work and determination, every one of my goals are attainable. Of course, if 1 and 3 were knocked out of the way, 2 and 4 would be a lot easier. But I have to do my own marketing and networking, at least for now, so I will work on 1 first and foremost. I am happy to announce that #3 is in the works (photos soon)! I am positive that #2 will happen with the hard work from #1 and #4 is always in motion.
I would love for Faerie Light Photography to become a premier boutique studio for women's portrait photography in North Carolina within the next 5 years!! Thank you to my current clients who are already helping me make that happen ♥
If you would like to be one of the first sessions in the new space, call 336.309.3506 or email today for an exclusive booking special!
If you are reading this and you live in the US you are probably noticing that it is no longer Tuesday (unless you are up super, super late)! I have a really good excuse...REALLY GOOD! This week's post is all about what I did today and what I am hoping will be something really exciting for the future of FLP. I went and looked at a studio space here in town. Can you believe it? An actual space to call my own! It's nothing big or fancy, it isn't what I picture when I think of my *perfect* studio, but it is just right for my first studio. Now I am just waiting to see if I get it...how exciting is that?
Let's hope I did not just jinx myself by telling you about it prematurely. I am too excited to keep it to myself so I am going to indulge and tell you all about the space itself.
When you walk through the door you will be in the reception/viewing/ordering/office where there will be samples on the walls, a couple of chairs in front of the tv for viewing & ordering as well as shelves full of props! It's not very big but big things will definitely happen in that room :) Then you walk through a door and you are in a room full of windows and light. This is where the magic will happen. Think sparkly. Think feminine. Think lace and light. I can shoot boudoir in there. I can shoot glamour in there. I can shoot high school seniors in there. I can shoot anything I want and it will be amazing! There will even be a little hair and makeup station as well as a changing area!
Oh! I can't wait to share pictures! I know I am getting ahead of myself but I can't help it. This is my dream! My own studio space to shoot in. My work on the walls. My own place to make my art. A place to welcome clients and be proud of what I do there. I hope I get to see each and every one of you in that space soon!
Stay tuned for more news on this as well as what you can do to help me out. If you are interested in booking a session in the new space contact me now for an extra special surprise!
If you follow me on Instagram you probably noticed my After photo a couple of weeks ago. The selfie of my new haircut? Yeah, that one.
My before photo pretty much looked like this, except that was taken a few months back.
When I decided to get my hair cut off I wasn't thinking about donating it. All I was thinking was, I need something different. A different cut, a different color, just completely different. When I told my stylist, Lexy, that I wanted to cut it all off and go short she asked if I wanted to see if it was long enough to send in to Locks of Love. I said sure, if it's long enough I would love to be able to give it to such a good cause. So she put it in a pony tail and cut it off. She grabbed the measuring tape and sure enough, it was more than long enough!
What a great thing to be able to do. To know that I helped a child who has lost their hair feel a little bit of normal, that just makes my heart swell. I also got something I totally wasn't expecting, a little certificate that says I donated my hair to this great cause. When that came through my email, I was so surprised and it made me feel good all over again.
If you ever get the opportunity to donate your hair, I hope you take it. Or any other deed that you can do to help someone less fortunate than you. If you can put a smile on someone's face, do it. The feeling you get back is tenfold.
What is your beauty?
